Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Conduct frontline Veterinary medicine by providing aquaculture health extension services, develop aquaculture health policies, create and oversee management plans, conduct applied research, surveillance and biosecurity programs.
  • Laboratory diagnostic services for finfish and shellfish clients, active and passive surveillance, applied research programs for Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Aquaculture clients include finfish and shellfish producers, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Environment Canada and Memorial University of Newfoundland.
